The DS wifi experiment.

I've been the proud owner of a Nintendo DS Lite for nearly a week now, having rushed down to game to buy one on the day of release (not to self: you are not actually 14 ). Last night, I decided to give Wifi gaming a go having heard good things in the past and having a shiny new wifi-compatible game in my mitts (Metroid prime hunters)

Have to say it took a bit of prodding to get it off the ground. My Netgear wireless settings were configured to keep out federal governments (well, snooping neighbours) so the DS wasn't really responding well to that arrangement. After relaxing my security settings a little, I managed to get connected and soon entered into an arena battle via Nintendo wifi with two strangers whom I fear had played many times before. I got shot, missile'd and generally pwned.

Overall though, I was really happy with the results, the frame rate was very good and it felt like playing computer opponents...on an extremely hard setting. I don't think my score made it onto Nintendo's board. Which is no bad thing really...
