He made it!

I was *this* close to putting money on Pete Doherty not showing up for Babyshambles' headline slot at Get Loaded in the park this Sunday...and he did, the bugger. Sadly, by that point I'd had already my fill of showers  of beer raining down on me as well as constantly being approached by drug/drink casualties (must be my face!) and was well on my way home.

Pretty good day all round though,  De la Soul were good ( despite the initally crap sound) as were the Cuban Bros who did an outstanding breakdance /compere set. Lily allen sounded like the album, which aint no bad thing and the Young knives made a wonderful racket whilst being decked-out like Stephen fry. Respect!

Recipe for disaster

Take one Apple Powerbook 15", one half drunk buttle of red wine ( Gallo's Ruby Cabernet preferred), lazily arrange items around the floor,  kick (or throw) bottle of red wine over powerbook.

Watch in frustrated horror as wine seeps gently into keyboard seeking out that all important motherboard.

Panic, punch walls, cry etc until you are very sure everything is still working.

The Kooks. Despite being about 12, they have recorded a rather wonderful debut album which happens to be on the shared itunes-super-network now happening in the office. Whats more, they have a track on there that is *actually* titled 'Jackie big tits'. Beat that, the strokes!.

mmmm muller.

I've become strangely obsessed with Muller rice. It's quite odd, I'd  seen these things in the shops for years and always thought 'nah, that looks utterly disgusting' but the other day in a hurried quest for a strawberry yoghurt ( I think I might be  pregnant ) I accidenttly purchased one, arrived at the office and was naturally very pissed off. Fully intending to chuck the whole thing away, I thought I may as well have a taste. The rest, dear readers, is history...

Above the law

Some tw@t of a cyclist had the  sheer nerve to stick two fingers up at me on the way in to work this morning. Why?. Because I (atop the vespa obv) stopped slightly over the designated cycle lane path as said cyclist was attempting to tour-de-france through the red lights. Now I could be wrong, but I'm sure Red means STOP and also includes those dumb enough to brave London traffic wearing nothing but lycra and oakley shades for protection. Gah, makes me mad I tell you!

Anybody watching ITV's Love Island. I'm Not. Well, not really,  but I did happen to catch last night's show, due to the quite-effective teaser trailer which featured Paul Danan  hurling expletives at Sophie Anderton. Might be fun I thought. Anyway, last night's show featured a 'special guest' who turned out to be none other than  ex-boyband member Abs from Five. Now, I can't confess to being Five's biggest fan, but I clearly remember them being five white males with vaguely London-esque accents.

For anyone who missed the show last night, I have some shocking news:

ABS IS NOW BLACK!. Yep, like the geordie woman who woke up with a Jamacian accent, Abs now sounds 'blacker' than my dad (who is *actually* Guyanese ) and has all the gestures and 'shit' to match. I'm a bit jealous actually, having been accused of sounding 'white' on my podcast, it may be time to phone up Abs and get some much-needed elocution advice.
